Event Overview
The highly anticipated launch of the SA Drone Soccer Tournament marks a milestone in South Africa’s sporting and educational landscape. Taking place at the prestigious Innovation Hub in Pretoria, this event will showcase the exciting fusion of drone technology and competitive sport.

Competition Format
Teams representing Gauteng’s top high schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges will battle it out in fast-paced, adrenaline-charged matches. Each match lasts just three minutes, creating a dynamic environment where quick thinking, precise drone piloting, and teamwork are critical to success.
Matches will be played in a series of sets, with winning teams advancing through quarter-finals, semi-finals, and culminating in a thrilling final match that will crown the Gauteng champion.
Player Experience
Participants will not only compete but also gain hands-on experience in drone piloting, repair, and strategic gameplay. The tournament provides a platform for young learners to develop valuable STEAM skills in a practical, engaging, and inclusive setting.
National Expansion
Following the Gauteng launch, the tournament is set to expand nationally, traveling to provinces including KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Free State, Western Cape, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and North West. This nationwide rollout will amplify the impact of drone soccer by reaching diverse communities and providing opportunities for learners across
South Africa to participate.
Community and Educational Impact
Beyond competition, the tournament promotes inclusivity by encouraging participation from learners of all abilities and backgrounds. It serves as a catalyst for STEAM education, youth development, and entrepreneurship, aligning with national goals to enhance skills and employability.
